The wonderfully dry and sunny weather has made for a busy, fun-filled summer for the Education team!
We have welcomed hundreds of children along to our Holiday Club sessions, both new faces and our regular attendees. These session are child-led, engaging and energetic!
The Education Team have worked really hard to ensure the high quality of these sessions with help from the café team and Wheelers.
I’m really proud to be part of such a supportive staff team.
We are absolutely over-the-moon to continue with our monthly Wild Teen Girls Sessions, aimed at girls aged 9–14. Creating a fun, safe space where they can build confidence, try new things, and develop a deeper understanding of their place in nature is something I’m really passionate about. It’s a super lovely way for the girls to meet new friends, and as a bonus, the sessions run on the first Tuesday of each month to coincide with the Coffee shop opening late!
Join us for the next Watchtree Woodland Wellbeing programme. Our programme is designed to improve wellbeing through meaningful connections with nature, offers an opportunity to relax, and gives you a chance to try new activities in the peaceful woodland setting of Watchtree Nature Reserve.
What a gorgeous recent session in our woodland with this group! We gathered elderberries and blackberries, had fun mashing them up, then boiled them on the campfire. We carefully strained the fruit and used the natural dye to tye dye our fabric. Such a wonderfully immersive way to spend an afternoon in nature here at Watchtree
We are always looking to welcome schools and groups of all ages to the reserve and work to ensure each visit is memorable and impactful, just get in touch with us to make a booking: learning@watchtree.co.uk
It is also a time for preparation and planning for the year ahead and future projects and priorities.
Exciting times ahead!
