Foraging Walk and Cookery Masterclass with John Crouch

There is such a thing as a free lunch! Join renowned Wigton chef John Crouch, as we enjoy a stroll around Watchtree to discover and learn about the wild plants and herbs growing in and round Watchtree and on other local walks. The walk will begin at the Watchtree Visitors Centre at 10am, and take around two hours, until we stop for a break at 12pm when we will enjoy lunch in the woods. John will then put his culinary skills and expertise to the test, entertaining us by demonstrating seasonal recipes and creating a true feast of nature from the ingredients of Watchtree. The demonstration session will continue until around 2pm.

The walk will be at a steady pace with frequent pauses, all within the paths of Watchtree so would be accessible to most users of the reserve; however, please inform us of any mobility issues within your party at the time of booking.

Soup and a roll, tea and coffee will be provided, although you are very welcome to bring your own lunch and picnic along too. All ingredients will be suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets – please inform us of an additional dietary requirements on booking.

Places are limited – this is certain to be a popular event!
