GEMS is coming to Watchtree Nature Reserve!
Designed especially for girls aged 7 to 11, GEMS is a fun and supportive cycling programme that helps girls build confidence, develop new skills, make friends and enjoy being active.

Spaces are limited and booking is essential.
As GEMS is designed as a 12 week programme, we encourage girls to attend all 12 sessions wherever possible.
GEMS is all about giving girls a positive and enjoyable experience of cycling.
Some girls might already love being on their bike, while others may not have ridden for a while or might feel a little unsure about sport. Both are completely welcome.
GEMS isn’t about competition or being the best. Sessions provide a relaxed and supportive environment where girls can learn new skills, grow in confidence and enjoy spending time with others.
GEMS is for girls aged 7 to 11 who can already ride a bike independently.
They don’t need to be experienced cyclists or particularly sporty. The programme is especially suited to girls who might prefer a friendly, non competitive way to get active and try something new.
Each one hour session includes a mixture of activities, such as:
• Fun games on bikes
• Simple cycling skills
• Teamwork challenges
• Confidence building activities
• Activities around friendships and trying new things
Sessions follow a similar structure each week, helping everyone get to know the group and feel comfortable. There is lots of encouragement and girls can develop their skills at their own pace.
No. Girls are welcome to bring their own bike or use one from Watchtree Wheelers during the sessions.
GEMS is completely FREE, but places are limited.
We ask families booking a place to attend as many of the 12 sessions as possible so that girls can get the most from the programme.
