Our Forest School and outdoor education sessions are designed to encourage curiosity and creativity, providing 5 -12 year olds with a day of fun-filled activities outside on our Nature Reserve.
Our Education team will spend the day leading fun, educational activities at Watchtree, examples of activities include:
- Bushcraft (den building, fire lighting and toasting marshmallows).
- Hunt for minibeasts
- Get crafty using items from around the woodlands.
- Den building
- Pond dipping
(activities planned may not include all listed here)
Cycle hire included where there is availability from the Wheelers cycle fleet.
Hot chocolate and water will be provided.
The club is for children aged between 5 – 12 years old.
Meet the kids club leader in the visitor’s centre from 9.50 am.

Why not for just £6 add a Watchtree kid’s packed lunch to your basket?
The packed lunch includes:
a choice of sandwiches, a drink, a piece of fruit, a yoghurt, and a packet of crisps.
Our Watchtree lunch bags take the stress of lunchtime prep away from you.
Select your food from the options, one child at a time and add to your basket.
On the day, their lunch will be conveniently prepared for them and given to our education officer for distribution.
FAQs
Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The club is for children aged between 5 – 12 years old.
Do we stay with our child?
No. We are OFSTED registered, so you drop your child off and pick them up at 4pm.
What do I NEED to bring to the event?
- A packed lunch or add a Watchtree lunch to your order for £6 from our add-ons – please refrain from including nuts or nut products in your child’s packed lunches or snacks.
- A drink in a water bottle.
- Dress in weather appropriate clothing, hats, gloves, outdoor wear/clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (long sleeves and trousers)
- Please pack spare clothing in a plastic bag.
- Boots or wellies and waterproofs must be packed
- Sun cream – please check the ingredients of the sun cream that you use, as some brands use nut oils as an ingredient.
- We have some children that have severe allergies, so we would be grateful if you could ensure that you do not apply sun creams containing nut oils to your child before attending Kids Club
- Sun hat
- Any emergency medication (Inhalers, Epipen) – please notify the team at drop off
