Teir 4 Covid Update

Posted December 31, 2020 by Senga Grave

In light of the latest coronavirus restrictions, we are adapting our services and facilities. This will enable us to stay open whilst protecting what is important to us – our community, our team and the future of our charity.

As we see it, Watchtree and its facilities should only be used for exercise by our local community during Tier 4 restrictions. This use alone in encouraged.

How far you can travel to exercise is not defined, however, we think a sensible judgement is to consider whether you have any alternative facilities, closer to home, which you could use for the same activities. If you do, use them – if not, come to us.

Tier 4 restrictions state ‘no household mixing, aside from support bubbles and two people meeting in public outdoor spaces’. Therefore Watchtree should not be a meeting place.

It also states that ‘you should stay at home apart form for work, education or other legally permitted reasons. If you must travel, you should stay local’ therefore visits should be kept brief and for exercise only. Picnics etc. Should be avoided for now.

Essentially, we are remaining open, whilst closing our main income stream for this time of year. The next few months will be the hardest of any of the restrictions for us. If you can support us in any way, please consider doing so.
