One of the best introductions to cycling for your little ones is on a balance bike.
A balance bike has no pedals, in order for them to move it relies on your little one by means of pushing to walk/ run while sat in the saddle.
All they have to concentrate on is steering, balance comes naturally, creating confident mini riders ready for some pedals.
Suitable for ages 2-4

Equipped with plenty of gears and ample tread, these bikes are perfectly built for Watchtree’s mixed terrain paths. They ensure a smooth, hassle-free ride so you can focus on enjoying your time on the reserve!
Suitable for ages 3+
Our KMX trikes are highly popular at Watchtree. The KMX is an exciting pedal-powered fusion between a go-cart and a mountain bike. Because of its lower riding position, it creates a comfortable and stable riding experience for all.
One of the huge advantages of a KMX is there is no balance needed you just need to pedal and steer, making it a fantastic addition to our accessible cycling fleet.
Suitable for ages 6+
Not quite steady enough for two wheels? Maybe you never learned. No worries, why not rent one of our eclectic fleet of tricycles? These are available from child-sized up to large adult. We also have adapted trikes with fixed wheels, supports, and pedal straps.

Suitable for ages 4+
Our hand cycles are trikes that are powered by the arms and upper body rather than the legs. The design of these trikes makes sure that the rider has an efficient and pleasant ride this is mainly down to the enhanced stability of the trike and the simplicity of steering and pedalling.
There is a transition needed from wheelchair to bike. If any additional supports and pedal straps are needed, just ask for help when you arrive and we’ll do our best to find the right solution for you.
Suitable for ages 10+
The O-Pair is a trike with which you can transport a non-ambulant user. A seat for the passenger is affixed to the front of the bike. From the back, the cyclist has an overview on the road and view of the passenger. There is a transfer needed from wheelchair to trike. This option puts the passenger out front, in the breeze, to experience nature at Watchtree to the full.

The VeloPlus wheelchair transport trike is designed for transporting people, who can remain seated in their own wheelchair, by cycle. The passenger is not required to be transferred between the wheelchair and the cycle.
The co-rider can be wheeled on to the platform of the cycle easily without having to be lifted. The tilted ramp makes it easy to roll the wheelchair on to the trike and fasten it properly with restraining straps. This option puts the passenger out front, in the breeze, to experience nature at Watchtree to the full. We also have wheelchairs for use with this vehicle.

The Babboe Big cargo trike is a sturdy three-wheel cargo trike with enough room to transport up to 4 children. Perfect for families with multiple little ones with inbuilt harnesses to keep children safe during their ride. Box load capacity 100kg.

This cool go-kart has two seats so that two people can have fun on this trike. The BERG 142 is extremely maneuverable due to the small turning circle. The pneumatic tyres make it very comfortable to ride.

Why not have a family day out on our fabulous Gran Tour Berg? This bike has two adults pedalling at the back and two child passenger seats at the front that can be adapted with seat belts for added security.

The RAD RaceRunner is a three-wheeled running trike with chest support. It is designed for children and adults with balance or mobility issues, such as cerebral palsy and muscle weakness.
The RAD RaceRunner can help runners achieve their exercising goals – be it recreation, competition, rehabilitation or just to enjoy Watchtree Nature Reserve.
