Why do we have Community Trees?
During the decades that Watchtree has been in operation we have held fundraising events for major projects such as building our multi-use trail around the Reserve.
Several generous businesses, grant giving bodies and individuals made significant financial contributions to these projects and we felt it was important to recognise their donations with a more permanent record.
After much thought, we decided that a Community Tree would represent everything Watchtree stands for. The first tree had 100 leaves which could be engraved to recognise a specific donor.
We have filled in all the leaves on our first tree and are now providing a second one to recognise further larger donations from supporting organisations and individuals. These donations are often made following a fundraising event or to commemorate a loved one or some special family event such as a birthday or anniversary.
Our trees are still growing, you can add your leaf by supporting our charitable work.
Any donation of £150 or more can have a leaf on our tree.
